- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all choices must win for the bet to pay out.
- American Odds
- Odds displayed as a positive or negative number; positive shows profit on a $100 bet, negative shows amount needed to win $100.
- Arbitrage
- A strategy that exploits differences in odds across bookmakers to guarantee a profit regardless of the outcome.
- Asian Handicap
- A special type of handicap that eliminates the draw option and gives a half‑goal or whole‑goal advantage to the underdog.
- Back Bet
- Betting that a specific outcome will happen, the traditional type of wager placed on a team or player.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for betting, used to manage risk and track wins or losses.
- Betting Exchange
- A platform where bettors can back and lay against each other, acting as a marketplace without a traditional bookmaker.
- Cash Out
- A feature that allows you to settle a bet before the event concludes, either securing a profit or limiting a loss.
- Correct Score
- A bet that requires predicting the exact final score of a match.
- Dead Heat
- A situation where two or more selections tie for a position, causing the payout to be split proportionally.
- Decimal Odds
- Odds expressed as a single number that includes the stake, showing the total return for each unit wagered.
- Fractional Odds
- Odds shown as a fraction that indicates the profit relative to the stake, common in the UK.
- Hedge
- Placing a bet on the opposite outcome to reduce risk or lock in a profit on an existing wager.
- In-Play Betting
- Placing a bet on a match while the game is in progress, with odds that update as the action unfolds.
- Lay Bet
- Betting that a specific outcome will not happen, essentially acting as the bookmaker by offering odds to other bettors.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, with odds shown as a positive or negative number indicating the payout.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Parlay
- A bet that combines two or more selections into one wager, with odds multiplied and only winning if every selection wins.
- Payout
- The total amount returned to a bettor after a winning bet, including the original stake.
- Point Spread

- Push
- A tie result where the bet is neither won nor lost, and the stake is returned.
- Stake

- Vig
